From Farmers Branch to La Feria, Texas at Christmas

Dios es Amor UMC sends pictures of youth and children from their church. Webb Chapel UMC makes an angel tree with pictures of the brown eyes and smiling faces. Gifts are bought and wrapped, then the trip is made from Farmers Branch to La Feria, Texas to bring gifts and love. The children have their Christmas Pageant and send back Valley oranges as a thank you. Seven years of relationship between two churches that say "God is Love:.
Dios es Amor!

Webb Chapel UMC Hosts Christmas party for our Neighborhood Children

Our second annual Angel Tree Christmas Party was hosted in Fellowship Hall on Dec. 23 for some our neighborhood children thanks to the generousity of our Farmers Branch Fire Dept., the people at the Valley View Pet Health Center, and some members of our next door neighbors at the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. Refreshments were donated and the gifts were handed out just in time for a Merry Christmas for these precious children.
A BIG thanks to all who made this fun afternoon possible!

Come All Ye Faithful Sunday

Invite a friend or neighbor or the mayor or someone from another church. They can miss one Sunday and come with you! I got to thinking about "faithful." Do you ever not feel faithful? All this talk and music about Jesus coming as a little baby. Do you ever wonder just who Jesus is and just where is He? Many people don't feel very faithful even at this time of year...especially this time of the year. I baby sit for Madison. She will be 3 on December 23. She sat on Santa's lap and he asked her, "Have you been a good girl?" She answered, "Nooooooo," (in a voice that was like, is that a requirement or something). Sometimes we hear the message that only the faithful can come to church and join in the festivities...that it's a requirement to be invited or be included. That's not what this time of the year means. Jesus coming as a little baby means we all get another chance. Faith is a gift. We all love gifts. A baby says gifts are good. A baby will always make us smile. A baby coming says that something is good in the world...and it's you! This whole season is meant for us to have a chance at celebrating life. I don't know one single child who gets rocks in their stockings! So come...all you who celebrate life...all who make mistakes...all who grieve and are dysfunctional...all who need chances...all who have a church home or do not...all who want to know more about love through the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...SuperStar!

VBS 2007 — "Galilee" Adventure Brings Fun to Many

We really experienced the feeling of being in Galilee with Jesus the week of July 23rd at our "Galilee-By-The-Sea" Vacation Bible School. Twenty-five children registered and we averaged about sixteen children each night. We learned how Jesus:

chooses us
teaches us
heals us
protects us
and provides for us

each night during our "tribe" time with the help of Pastor Joyce Cravens. She had us believing we were actually living in Galilee. We even made our own pottery, a seashell necklace, a wooden boat, and our own music maker at the "Galilee Market". A "BIG THANKS" goes out to everybody that helped to made this week possible.

Cindy was chosen for her work in the community of Farmers Branch and because she missed only 2 days in her 4 years of high school. Congratulations Cindy!
